A Wisconsin Musician’s First National Tour
Day 44: A journey to Boulder and a performance with the full band. I thoroughly enjoyed the live phone interview with On Wisconsin Radio on 91.7 FM in Madison. Thank you so much for the radio play! I love Boulder and the people there have been very supportive and positive. It was fun to finally busk on Pearl Street and hang out again in the beautiful front range of Colorado.
Day 45: A beautiful drive to Summit County and a special, intimate show at the Frisco Inn on Galena. The Discovery Channel showed up and filmed a bit of the performance. I will keep you posted on when it will air. There is nothing like watching a full moon rise in the mountains over an alpine lake at 9,000 feet. The elements are beautiful in Summit County; I can’t wait to be back performing this winter!
Day 46: An early morning drive over the pass to Keystone Resort and a performance with my drummer, Ian Monk, at the Inxpot Coffee House. This was followed by a magical hike above Silverthorne, CO through the White River National Forest with a new friend. The evening ended with local, organic ice cream and a much needed hot tub soak while watching the full moon rise over the Rockies.
Day 47: An action packed, magical day filled with jaw-dropping views and perfect weather. I woke up at 6 a.m. to see the full moon just setting behind the majestic mountains. A breathtaking drive to Leadville and a special three hour performance at City on a Hill Coffee. I absolutely love Leadville. After this I headed to Steamboat Springs and stopped at the healing Strawberry Park Hot Springs. Followed by storms and the setting sun I drove to Laramie, WY. I was rather nauseous after driving over six hours through windy mountain passes, and it was worth every second of it.
Day 48: Who would have known Wyoming has so much to offer. It really is a hidden gem. With new friends we weaved through the mystical Snowy Mountains & Medicine Bow National Park to Saratoga. We drove through rain, wind, snow, hail, and sunshine. We pulled over to witness massive moose on the side of the road, dodged a family of wild turkeys ~ baby turkeys, and had to slam on our brakes for cattle crossing the highway. The hot springs here were unforgettable, pools flowing into the river. The weather was perfect, only 55 degrees and a bit of a breeze. The springs were just hot enough to melt away all the worries and refresh the heart and body for the next chapter.
Day 49: Show tonight in Laramie, WY! It’s going to be a blast. Headed to Iowa tomorrow.
I never want this journey to end. It has been the best six weeks of my life. What a beautiful life.
There is nothing like the sounds of rain on a tin roof.
There is nothing like the seasons changing in the high country.
